Yesterday VIA announced the arrival of the VIA Nano processor platform line. The VIA Nano is based on the Isaiah architecture and extends the VIA Proccesor platform to new heights of performance without hogging the juice or getting overly warm.
It's ideally placed to power new compact devices like mini-notes as well as optimized desktop PCs, i.e. PCs that place more emphasis on graphics and video prowess and less on blazing CPUs.
Headlines charged with positive energy have been surfacing throughout the day, producing highly favourable comments the tech media's leading lights. Here are some samples:
"No Technology Limits for Via's Nano Chip, Unlike Intel Atom" - PCWorld.com
"These clever chips were designed to revolutionize mobile computing through a mix of lightning fast computing speeds and low power consumption"- Wired.com
"The VIA Nano Processor has the potential to breathe new life into the company and give Intel's Atom and AMD's Puma processors and platforms a strong dose of competition" - PCPerspective.com
